Franklin School Plan 2003/04

  1. What are the major strategies in your plan?
    • Provide training, coaching and colloboration time for improving use of the Houghton Mifflin reading materials and assessments.
    • Develop Success Maker Enterprise program for targeted students and begin use of Success Maker Enterprise data to help teachers differtiate their instruction for identified needs.
    • Target supplemental support services for identified low-performing students, such as before- and after- school Success Maker Enterprise classes and I-Can-Read volunteers.
    • Teacher differentiation using flexible grouping to meet students' identified areas of need.
    • Continue to use ITI and brain-compatible teaching techniques to help all students, especially struggling and reluctant learners. Continue Lifeskill learning

    • What do formative assessments, such as the new Houghton Mifflin reading assessments adn Success Maker Enterprise data tell us about our students? What patterns occur among our population subgroups that relate to strengths or weaknesses in our particular program?

    Teacher Practice Questions

    • What are teachers doing with the new Houghton Mifflin assessment data and the Success Maker Enterprise reports to target their instruction? Can we identify any high leverage teaching strategies/practices that can be implemented schoolwide? How do we differentiate instruction to successfully meet our targeted low-performing students needs?
