Season of Nonviolence Daily Reading Background: Staff will read the daily topic from the Season of Nonviolence materials. Fiscal Implications: None 4.) Review of Student Achievement Data: English Learners Background: Staff presented a review of the student achievement data for English Language Learners. Fiscal Implications: None 5.) Approval of Resolution 11-0012 Request to Issue TRAN Background: Due to the State budget crisis, the State has been unable to send school district funds obligated under law in a timely manner. These delays or deferrals are getting worse and worse. As a result, in order to maintain a solid cash flow position, school districts are taking short term loans (TRANs) until the State send them the monies. Fiscal Implications:Approximately $38,000 for costs associated with acquiring financing 6.) Equitable Distribution Update on Highly Qualified Teachers Background: The State of California selected 247 school districts to participate in a Compliance,Monitoring, Intervention and Sanctions program to determine compliance with Federal law. Staff will present an update on the results. Fiscal Implications:None 7.) State of the District III: Focus on K-5 Achievement Data Background: Staff presented the third in a series of six presentation on student achievement for the District. The presentation focused on K-5 student achievement data.
