Henry Haight Elementary School Title 1 Academic Achievement Award Background: Henry Haight Elementary is one of 24 Title 1 schools (out of 6000 Title 1 schools) who have met the eligibility criteria for the fourth consecutive year. Strategic Significance: Goal #12 Communication and Community Engagement 3. K-8 ELA/Math Benchmark Assessment Item Type: Information (20 minutes) Background: Staff proivided an overview of the assessment system for K-8. Strategic Significance: Goal #1 Curricular Coherence and Effective Practices 4. Approval of Resolution No. 07-4096 Intent to Dismiss Classified Employees - California School Employees Association Item Type: Action(20 minutes) At the February 27, 2007 BOE meeting, the Board of Education approved $1,400,000 of budget reductions. As a result, the following personnel action is required. Background: California Education Code Section 45117 set forth dates and procedures by which the Board of Education must express its intent to reduce or discontinue particular kinds of service and give notice to classified employees that their services may not be required for the ensuing school year.
Here are the projected impacts of the reductions using new staffing ratios. Actual impacts will be negotiated with CSEA as well as determination by each site if they have categorical funds available for staff.
The Board approved the resolution with Members Gibson and Jensen voting no. Fiscal Implications: Estimated savings $187,000 Strategic Significance: Goals #1-12
