1.) Recognition of Student Board Members

Background: Each year recognize student board members for their service to the community. This year we recognized:

• Acen Dautin Alameda Science Technology Institute
• Koki Inlow Alameda High School
• William Mooney Encincal High School
• Miguel Gamalinda Island High School

2.) Highlighting Alameda Schools - Island High School

Background: Staff will be presented a report on the academic program at Island High School.

3.) Video Highlight: 2009/10 Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) Participating Teachers

Background: At the end of the year, a celebration of beginning teachers receiving their clear credentials is done. Staff prepared a video capturing students voice about the new teachers.

4.)  Governor's May Revise

Background: Each the Governor issues a May Revise to his original budget submitted to the Legislature in January. Staff presented a report on the impact of the May Revise on AUSD.

5.) Teacher of the Year Update

Background: Staff presented an update on the annual selection process of the Alamedea Teacher of the Year. John Nolan, teacher at Island High School was selected as AUSD Teacher of the Year and will be formally recognized in October.

6.) Single School Plans for Student Achievement

Background: Each year schools are required to prepare their Single School Plan for the coming school year. The plans are reviewed and approved by the Board of Education.
