1. Approval of the City of Alameda's resolution calling for an election regarding amendments to the City Charter

Background: Currently, the the Alameda City Charter contains language which references the Board of Education. The primary refreence is Article 11. The Board of Education voted 4-0 to ask the City Council to approve a resolution for placement on the November 2, 2004.

Ballot Measure Language

Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to delete refernces to the Board of Education resulting in the Board no longer being subject to, controlled and/or governed by the Charter but instead governed by State law?
