Highlighting Alameda Unified School District Schools - Bay Farm Elementary School Background: Bay Farm staff presented an overview of math instruction from their school. 2.) Alternatives in Action Report on "The Real Me: My Strengths, My Voice, My Self" Movement Background: Students from six high schools attended a five week class over the summer school focused on devleoping a media campaign to promote self esteem. Examples of their work were share at the meeting. Fiscal Implications: None3.) Public Hearing: Approval of Resolution No. 10-0104 Certification of Requirement of Education Code Section 60119 for Pupil Textbook and Instructional Materials Incentive Program for Grades K-12 for Fiscal Year 2010/11 Background: Each year the Board of Education certifies that the necessary textbooks are available to all students.. Fiscal Implications: None 4.) State of the District: Focus on 6-12 Achievement Data Background: Staff presented additional data focused on middle and high school achievement data from 2009/10. Fiscal Implications: None. 5.) Review of Facility Analyses for School Closure/Consolidation Option 1 Background: Staff presented the facilities implications of the implementing Option1 of the School Closure from the September 30 meeting. Fiscal Implications: TBD. 6.) Approval of Recommendation Regarding Miller Site (Island High School and Woodstock Child Development Center) Background: The Navy will no be longer providing utility service to the Miller site as of June 2011. As a result is recommending not pursuing conveyance of the land to the District and relocating Island High to Woodstock Education Center and WCDC to Longfellow Elementary Center. Fiscal Implications: Approximately $200,000.
