Recognition of Outgoing Board Member Tracy Jensen Background: Tracy Jensen was recognized for her eight years of service on the Board of Education. Fiscal Implications: None. 2.) City of Alameda - Named One of the 100 Best Communities for Young People Background: The city of Alameda was named one of the 100 best communities for young people. Tracy Jensen commented on the work of AUSD in helping secure this award. Fiscal Implications: None Background: AUSD and BASE terminated the current lease agreement in order to develop a new lease that acknowledges Island High School being moved to Woodstock Education Center. Fiscal Implications: None 4.) Presentation of Preliminary First Interim Budget and Final Strategic Budget Reductions Background: Staff presented the preliminary First Interim budget and strategic budget reductions.. Fiscal Implications: None. 5.) Final Recommendation of Closure/Consolidation of Schools in 2011/12 and 2012/13 School Year - Phase I, Phase II Background: Staff will provide thier final recommendations on school closures/consolidations at the November 30 special meeting. Fiscal Implications: TBD. 6.) Review of Proposed March Parcel Tax Measure Background: Following two public hearings and numerous meetings with members of the community and business, staff presented the language for a March, 2011 replacement parcel tax. The Board will take action on the Parcel Tax on November 30rd special meeting. Fiscal Implications: TBD.
