District Reopeners for Local One Contract

Article 3

  • The District proposes elimination of the nine percent (9%) shift differential in summer time and over winter and spring break.
  • The District proposes new language concerning flexible hours that are assigned in summer and other break periods based on District needs.
  • The District proposes changes to the overtime rates on Sundays and holidays.
  • The District proposes changes flexibility in starting custodial time, based on site needs.

  • The District proposes additional criteria, including a test, for every promotion.

  • The District proposes that ongoing progressive discipline be considered in promotion criteria along with other criteria.

  • The District proposes to clarify bereavement leave language.

  • The District proposes to remove back braces from the district- provided safety equipment, based upon evidence that they do not help, and in some cases, hurt.
