Source:Go Green Inititiative Go GreenThe Go Green Initiative is a simple, comprehensive program designed to create a culture of environmental responsibility on school campuses across the nation. Founded in 2002, the Go Green Initiative unites parents, students, teachers and school administrators in an effort to make real and lasting changes in their campus communities that will protect children and the environment for years to come. At the November, 2006 PTA Council representatives from Go Green, Waste Management and Alameda County Industuries made a presentation on recycling at Alameda schools. Edison Elementary School has started the Go Green program using the resources from the Go Green services. Since Alameda Unified School District is using Waste Management for trash disposal, the recycling effort are not as visible. Waste Management does its recycle separation at an offsite facility.
