Employees of the Month Background: Each month we honor employees nominated for employee of the month. This month we honored Vickie Leftvich and Chris Janvier. Fiscal Implications: None. 2.) Highlighting Alameda Unified Schools: Haight Elementary School Background: Staff presented a report on their 2010/11 accomplishments of its programs and its students. Fiscal Implications: None. 3. Approval of Measure A (2005-2011)and Measure H Oversight Committee Report Background: The oversight committee reviewed the reports of expenditures from the parcel taxes and certified them. The Board accepted the report. Fiscal Implications: None 4.) GASB 45 Report Background: Governmental requirements provided that an audit of Other Post Employment Benefits be conducted every two years. The audit was presented to the Board. Fiscal Implications: None 5.) Superintendent Recommendation to Expend Carryover Funds Background: As staff closes the books it is able to shift monies to pay for programs from restricted dollars and free up dollars for other programs. The Superintendent is recommending spending these one time funds on textbooks and materials for district wide initiatives for SIM, IBD and math. Fiscal Implications: None. 6.) Textbook Sufficiency Background: Each year the Board must approve a resolution certifying that there are sufficient textbooks for all students. The Board approved the resolution. Fiscal Implications: None. 7.) Superintendent Performance Goals for 2012/13 Background: The Superintendent's contract has a provision to pay up to $15,000 in performance bonuses for achieving measurable goals. As part of the process, the Board needs to establish annual goals in October prior to the year the goals will be measured. The first draft of the 2012/13 goals were presented for feedback from the Board. Board member McMahon indicated a preference that third goal be changed to implementation of the magnet program instead of the narrow focus of increasing AP participation.
