Ballot Position DeterminedAugust 16, 2008Five individuals filed papers to run for School Board in the November election. In 2004, six school board candidates filed papers in 2004. On August 15, the Secretary of State office conducted an alpha random draw to determine ballot position for the local races. The entire November election including local elected official races and state ballot propositions is covered here.
Superintendent Selection ProcessJuly 28, 2008Superintendent of Schools Ardella Dailey announced that she will retire effective January 1, 2009 due to personal family necessity. Dailey will continue working to provide the leadership necessary to keep the district on the path to excellence and equity for all students, and will ensure that the next six months will provide a smooth transition to a new Superintendent. Dailey will make herself available during the search process and after the selection to support the transition. At the August 12 BOE meeting, the Board approved the timeline and process and reviewed the recruitment brochure for selection of the new Superintendent.

Special BOE Meeting - June 30July 1, 2008There was a special meeting Board meeting on June 30 (recap). The primary reason for the meeting was to adopt the 2008/09 budget, including documentation of Measure H restoration of programs. 2008/09 Calendar ApprovedDecember 12, 2007The 2008/09 Calendar was approved at the December 11th BOE meeting.
